VENTURING TRAINING

ADVISOR POSITION-SPECIFIC TRAINING

Venturing Advisor Position-Specific Training provides an introduction to the responsibilities, opportunities, and resources that will ensure a successful Venturing Crew leadership experience. This is for adults only and can be taught in conjunction with the Crew Committee Challenge. Upon completion of the course, the training code P21 can be entered into the leader's training record. Crew Advisors and Associate Advisors who complete this training and the Venturing version of Youth Protection Training are considered 'trained'.

 

CREW COMMITTEE CHALLENGE

The Crew Committee Challenge provides Venturing Crew committee members with the basic information they need to help manage a Crew. It can be taught in conjunction with Advisor Position-Specific Training. When the training is complete, the training code WS12 can be entered into the leader's training record. Crew committee members who complete this training and Youth Protection Training are considered 'trained'.

 

YOUTH PROTECTION TRAINING

Youth Protection Training is required for all registered BSA volunteers. It must be renewed every 2 years and can be taken online at myscouting.org. If you think any of the BSA's Youth Protection policies have been violated, you must notify your local Council Scout Executive or his/her designee so appropriate action can be taken for the safety of all Scouts.
